Every Plant Tells a Story
Nature does not create perfection, it creates character. We celebrate these natural details, because they make every plant beautifully one of a kind.
Tillandsia ionantha 'Guatemala' is a compact air plant with fine, delicate leaves. Green year-round, it transforms to bright pink when flowering, displaying deep purple tubular blooms that attract hummingbirds. Over time, it produces multiple offsets to form an attractive cluster. Position: Indoors near a bright window with good airflow, or outdoors in dappled light under trees, verandahs, or shadehouses. Needs airflow to dry between waterings. Tolerates cool temperatures but protect from frost.
Suspend or mount on non-water-retaining surfaces like timber or cork bark using wire, fishing line, or adhesive. Never cover the base with moss, it will rot.
In warm spots, water every 2–3 days. In cool, humid spaces, once weekly is enough. Mist or dunk for 10–20 minutes, then shake off excess. Let it dry completely between waterings. Never allow water to pool at the base.
