Tillandsia Aff Duratii Bolivia Air Plant This Bolivian air plant features straighter leaves than typical duratii varieties and produces many large purple flowers with a strong, garden-perfuming fragrance. One of the easiest fragrant Tillandsias to grow. Native to Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina, this caulescent species rarely develops roots.
Grow outdoors in bright, indirect light,under trees, in shade-houses, or on covered patios and decks. Ensure good air flow for drying between waterings. Tolerates low temperatures but must be protected from frost. Mount or suspend on non-water-retaining substrates like timber or cork bark using coated wire, fishing line, silicone, hot glue, or adhesive. Never cover the base with moss or substrate.
Water every 2–3 days in hot spots, or once weekly in cool, humid areas. Mist or dunk the plant for 10–20 minutes, then shake off excess water. Always let the plant dry completely between waterings. Never let water sit at the base,this causes rot.
