Tillandsia neglecta is a striking air plant from Rio de Janeiro with short, curved, stiff foliage that turns bronze under bright light. It produces delicate mauve flowers on pink stems and multiplies quickly into impressive clumps,perfect for collectors wanting fast-growing drama.
This species loves bright, indirect light and dry conditions. Grow it indoors on a sunny windowsill or outdoors under trees, verandahs, or shadehouses. Mount it on cork bark or timber using wire, fishing line, or silicone—never bury the base in moss.
Water every 2–3 days in hot spots, or weekly in cooler, humid areas. Mist or dunk for 10–20 minutes, then shake dry. Let it dry completely between waterings; standing water causes rot. Frost-hardy but needs protection from hard freezes.
