Tillandsia Kautskyi Air Plant Native to the misty mountain forests of Brazil, this striking air plant features silvery-grey, densely packed leaves forming a compact rosette. It grows 4–10 cm tall and produces delicate pink to lilac flowers. Care at a Glance Light: Medium brightness; avoid full sun.
Position near a window indoors, or in dappled shade outdoors. Temperature: 10–32°C. Protect from temperatures below 6°C when wet; can tolerate near-freezing conditions briefly if dry.
Humidity: Moderate to high. Ensure good airflow—the plant must dry within an hour of watering.
Watering: 3 times weekly in summer, 1–2 times weekly in winter. Water less frequently in low light or dry conditions. Mounting: Attach to non-water-retaining surfaces like driftwood, slate, rocks, or shells using adhesive or wire. Avoid covering the base with moss. Tilt the plant slightly to prevent water pooling at the base. A stunning, low-maintenance addition to any collection.
