Tillandsia lorentziana 'Dark Red' is a striking air plant native to South America, prized for its silvery, velvet-textured leaves and stunning cherry-red flowering spike. This xeric species thrives outdoors in bright, well-ventilated spots, under trees, on verandahs, or in shadehouses and must never be kept indoors.
Mount on cork bark or timber using wire or adhesive.
Water every 2–3 days in hot positions, weekly in cooler spots, by misting or dunking for 10–20 minutes. Always allow complete drying between waterings and never let water pool at the base. Frost-tender; protect in winter. Low-maintenance and rewarding for experienced plant lovers.
